Entrance
Non-selective and has not traditionally suffered from the long waiting lists of other schools - although this is beginning to change and a number of year groups are now oversubscribed (school is looking at ways to address this).
Exit
Outside the secondary school head’s office is a helpful map of where pupils go on to university. Spain is the most popular: over half chose Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid. Some to the UK and third most popular destination is the Netherlands. Staff

Learning support & SEN
In primary, teaching assistants aplenty for those that need extra help. No gifted and talented programme as such, though the GL Progress, Accelerated Reader programme and teacher input enables tailored learning at both ends of the spectrum.
Language support
In secondary, pupils learn Spanish for eight hours a week and all take Spanish IGCSE. This focus on language is a plus point for parents as students leave not only with their academic qualifications, but also excellent Spanish. The pupils we spoke to

This is a well-equipped school - including recording studios, music practice rooms and large airy art studios. Art is strong and varied. Photography and graphic art, as well as more traditional pieces, create a colourful gallery around the school and
Sport
Sport is well-catered for on both campuses. On the secondary side, a sports pitch dominates the central area, with hard seating rising up on a number of levels to the top of the school. A 25m indoor pool and large gymnasium with viewing gallery
Boarders
Boarding is offered if needed - currently school houses 25 pupils in two villas nearby. The atmosphere is reported to be relaxed and friendly, and the pupils get to enjoy a wide range of activities at the weekends. Javea is full of outdoor pursuits

Ethos & heritage
It was certainly rousing to arrive at Lady Elizabeth School and hear the soundtrack to the film Dambusters! The idea is that students must be in their next lesson by the time the music piece ends. Every week they choose a new piece of music - we
Pastoral care, inclusivity & discipline
While talking to the head of secondary, we were interrupted by two pupils who needed some guidance and he immediately helped. School works hard to make sure everyone has support if needed.

Classroom & community
Given that school wears its international hat with pride, LES has a broad church of parents. Where once the Brits had the upper hand, they now make up a quarter of families. Some Spanish families too, but not in huge numbers. Many languages are
