What says..

Great emphasis placed on social skills, self-esteem and ‘learning for life.’  All learn life skills, gaining a qualification. Older pupils encouraged to be independent, travel on public transport, develop shopping skills and ‘getting ready for work’ lessons. Recent innovation from older girls is Hot and Not Bothered, which encourages girls to take part in sport. Sixth form girls came up with the idea to keep girls active and run it themselves - excellent. ‘The school has been a breath of fresh air for our family,’ was said by more than one family. Executive Headteacher

Executive Headteacher: Since 2014 Jonathan Budd. Degree in leisure management but always interested in teaching. An army child who spent his summers with his PE teacher mother in a special school, helping with sports and swimming. Left university and became a teaching assistant at an autism school. ‘I was with a child who spoke his first word when he was with me, and that was it: I knew this was for me.’ After PGCE, he was offered a teaching job in the same school. He has never taught in mainstream. Hugely experienced with autism and social communication difficulties.
