What the parents say...

With one son now having left and the other in year 10 Salesian College continues to offer a great level of service and encouragement to the students of all abilities. They continue to ensure all the boys leave well educated, well balanced, confident and polite young men. You always worry about you choice of senior schools for your children, but what a great choice we made.

I feel confident that my boys are in good hands at Salesian College. The school knows how to get the best out of boys, there is great communication between staff and parents, and there is a happy, high achieving, nurturing atmosphere.

This is an excellent school, with very effective communication between the school team and parents. The teaching is first class and there is always additional help available should it be needed. The school develops the boys to achieve not just academic success but to grow into young respectable men.

The school has been excellent for my sporty son. he has plenty of opportunity during and after the school day to play sport. The school is also incredibly organised in terms of fixtures - months in advance I am informed of the fixture list especially useful for Saturday morning sport.

My son currently attends Salesian College and I am impressed with how quickly he has settled into the school and the results he is achieving so far. The communication links between parent and school are good. There is a very active PTA and a great community spirit.

Salesian Farnborough is outstanding for all-round education, nurturing and spiritual support. They have an excellent team of teachers who really care about the boys and 6th Form girls with an 'every child is important' attitude. Pupils are offered a huge range of activities and opportunities outside normal classes. This is definitely a place for hard-working pupils who really want an exciting yet thoroughly well-grounded school experience to prepare them for the next stage.

My eldest son did extremely well at Salesian, they have a very caring attitude and know how to get the best out of teenage boys. My youngest son is currently in Year 8 and I would highly recommend the school.

We have found the school to be excellent since our son arrived in September. The teachers really care about the pupils, in our opinion, and the feedback has been thoughtful, encouraging and accurate. The ISI inspection report published October 2014 couldn't have been better in our opinion. The school is under new leadership and we feel the good work is continuing and they are not resting on their laurels.

A good all round school offering a balance between sports and the arts offering something for all students regardless of their talents. We've found the school has a very supportive pastoral philosophy and is very caring and nurturing.

To me, Salesian College is a truly inspirational school that adds value to a child's education and prepares them for the next stage in their life. I chose Salesian so that I could personally feel my children are able to obtain the best possible education I can provide for them and I feel safe in the knowledge that this is the case. I love this school so much, that I am actively involved in the PTA (along with a great team of parents) and between us, we organise a number of social events that bring together the parents, teachers and pupils - it's a voluntary job that I truly enjoy. I have no reservations in recommending Salesian College, in fact, whenever I mention the school to anyone, I am very proud to be associated with it.

Salesain College has given my son confidence, self esteem and has made him feel part of a big family. He enjoys all aspects of the college life and has got involved in the drama productions, photography and film club. The teachers and quality of teaching is excellent and this has been demonstrated in his results to date.

I feel this school offers fantastic opportunities to both my boys academically, sporting, socially and in extra curricular activities. They both enjoy attending and are fast turning into lovely, well rounded young men.

Our son started in Year 7 this year after looking at various local schools. He has had the best start to his secondary education and is enjoying all aspects- especially the usual boy subjects of maths, science and sport, sport and more sport!! The support from his Tutor and Year Head is exceptionally good which I am sure has helped the transition to secondary to be as smooth as possible.

Salesian College at Farnborough is providing our son with an outstanding all round education. The school is very well managed and the teachers are committed to knowing the individual child and how he learns. The Curriculum is thoroughly organised and planned allowing for all pupils to achieve their full potential academically. Sport is fantastic too! Overall we are delighted with the school in every respect so much so that all our three children will be attending from September 2015.

We have had sons at the school since 2009. The school provides excellent teaching and pupils will achieve well in their public exams provided that they make a sensible effort. There is a very good atmosphere in the school, both between pupils and between pupils and staff. There is a strong sense of cohesion and the pupils really do develop as caring and responsible young people. Communication between school and parents is effective in functional terms but, in my opinion, has the (perhaps unintended) effect of holding parents at arms' length; for example, there is no 'Parent Voice' forum or similar means of providing feedback. The provision by the school in terms of teaching and facilities is superb given the very reasonable level of the fees. We have been very happy with our decision to choose this school.

I would like to request that Salesian College is considered for the annual edition. My son is thriving in a happy, caring, yet academic environment. The students are courteous and respectful. Academic expectations are high. The teachers go the extra mile to ensure the boys fulfil their potential. Each boy is treated as an individual. Pastoral care is outstanding.

Salesian College in Farnborough has provided an environment in which my son has thrived for the past 5 years and I have been very happy with his progress. The excellent teaching staff more than cater for the academically bright, pushing them appropriately, but he has also benefited from the school ethos which has meant he has been given the opportunity to develop and excel in other areas too. My son's school year is acknowledged to have been a particularly competitive one between the four house classes, with some strong characters and very able sportsman in it, but the college has worked hard and used innovative ideas to prevent this getting out of hand. I consider the fees to be fair, and indeed good value compared to some other local schools, and the uniform costs are very reasonable. I have had no regrets in sending my son to Salesian College and I believe that the grounding that the college has given him during these important years it will stand him in great stead in future years.

Having returned from the Middle East where my son was educated for most of his school life in a Private English School, I was apprehensive how he would settle back in the UK returning in Year 8 when most children form their 'groups' / friends during the first term in Year 7. I am very pleased to say Salesian made the transition a smooth one, identifying very quickly his strengths and development areas. This school has offered teaching practices to support academic success and allows each boy to develop individually offering encouragement for success be that in a subject where a boy excels or in a subject where a boy requires extra support to reach his potential.

My son started at Salesian college Farnborough this Sep 2014 when we moved into the area. He didn't know any other pupils but from the first day of attending he felt totally at ease. The school and teachers have a caring naturing ethos and through this process they bring the best out in every boy helping him achieve his potential and excel in their talents. You only need to look at the boys in year groups 11-13 to know that your son will grow into a well rounded individual young man who is encouraged to make the best of their ability.

I always knew this was the right school for my son, now in Year 9. For the first year and a half he wouldn't have agreed with me, but under the wonderful guidance of teachers (male and female) who really understand boys, the difficulties they can have during their teenage years, and what they are capable of achieving, he is turning into a son to be proud of with the potential to reach heights I would never have believed possible only a few months ago. You only have to look at the end product to see how well Salesian College does its job.

I have 2 boys at the school and find it to be an academic school with a caring holistic approach. Staff succeed at getting pupils to achieve of their best without hot-housing. Boys are welcomed and accepted for who they are, not expected to fit into a mould. I can highly recommend from my experience.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
