What the school says...

'CATS Canterbury is a lively and top performing school which was won both national and international awards for its work. With over 160 university visits to the college last year including almost all the Times top 20 universities our preparation for university entrance is outstanding. We have won Awards of Excellence from the Independent Schools Association, the International Schools Award and were shortlisted for Independent School of the Year. Our results have put us in the top 5 Independent 6th form colleges in the UK for A level grades A*-B.

Boarding at CATS Canterbury is exceptional as you would expect of a school drawing many students from the international elite. Almost all our students board and single ensuite rooms and a central campus are the norm. There are limited shared ensuite rooms. Our boarding was rated by the Inspectorate as Excellent and we have won the Times Educational Supplement Boarding Initiative of the year award.

We are a family friendly school - the Principal lives on site and has an open door policy to his office during the day as do all Senior Staff. We have electronic 'Tell Us' systems to listen carefully to student voice and a strong focus on Global Leadership. We offer nearly 10 leadership awards at the college and many activities specifically designed to support your individual subject University applications. We hold Global Leadership Days each year with a range of leadership activities and guests including top hospitals for medics, Oxfordbridge and LSE visits as well as exciting residential trips including to the United Nations in New York.

Our University Foundation programme for overseas students was the first in the UK - running for nearly 30 years, and we are an IB world school. We also offer one year Pre A level and IB courses and the two year GCSE. We also offer a full range of A level courses. We have been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise and the Principal has been awarded the MBE by the Queen for services to education.

You are always welcome to visit us and meet our amazing students and staff who are happy to show you the college. '

What the parents say...

Our daughter graduates from CATS Canterbury in June and says it has been the best experience of her life. Her grades have greatly improved and she is looking forward to studying Psychology at a top ten university this year. Many universities visited CATS Canterbury over this year and our daughter got first hand advice and support from some of the best universities in the UK and overseas as well as personal support from her CATS HR Advisor. It is a friendly and academically challenging environment where students are encouraged to reach their true potential. There are many opportunities for students to engage in unique subject specific activities that add value to their university applications. Thank you to everyone at CATS Canterbury who have helped to make our daughter's dream come true. The recent Inspection Report with 'Excellent' in all areas confirmed this as a very desirable college and we are very pleased to recommend it. Thank you to everyone at CATS for your outstanding education, support and expertise.

Last year, our son graduated from Cats College, Canterbury with outstanding results in mathematics A levels. The care, guidance, quality of teaching and leadership which he experienced from the staff at CATS, enabled him to reach his potential: to excel and to gain personal confidence in ways which he had not done previously. He thoroughly enjoyed his year and found it immensely rewarding! As parents, we are deeply grateful to the Head and to the teachers who contributed so meaningfully to him, especially the mathematics department for their exceptional commitment to excellence. His year at the College has enabled him to excel at Oxford Brookes University, where he is reading Mechanical Engineering and where is currently placed among the top 5 students of his year. This achievement is in no small measure due to the input he received during his time at Cats College, and we, as parents, are deeply indebted for all that Cats did for him and for us as a family. I would strongly recommend the College to other parents who are hoping to provide an outstanding education and who hope to ensure a future opportunity for their children. It has been a wonderful experience! Thank you all so much!

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.

International Baccalaureate: diploma - the diploma is the familiar A-level equivalent.
