Special Education Needs

The school caters for those pupils whose needs can, on the whole, be met in the mainstream classroom with their peers. At the present time, we offer provision, to pupils with specific learning difficulties (mild/moderate dyslexia and dyspraxia) as well as pupils with mild emotional and behavioural difficulties. A small proportion of our identified pupils respond to measures that may include individual or small group work with an additional support needs teacher. This provision is provided in the Primary School where intensive teaching is offered to focus on Literacy and Numeracy needs. In Secondary, the vast majority of pupils will be taught in mainstream classes differentiated to suit individual need.
