Since 1994, Geraldine Maidment who bought Annemount after the death of Miss Jamaiker, founder of the school in 1936 – fulfilling a childhood dream of running her own school. Transformed the building and lowered the age-range to pre-prep, establishing the distinctive educational ethos that still endures today. A talented linguist, she grew up in north London but studied and worked in Europe, reading art history and German at university before joining Sotheby’s. Her love of art and music is embedded into the curriculum, including an in-depth focus on a composer and artist of the term. We very much enjoyed the music playing discreetly in the hallway to complement the informative posters made by staff about Debussy and Cezanne.
