The Good Schools Guide tried to contact this school however we found the phone permanently on answerphone, and although we sent emails nobody responsed. According to the schools web-site: 'Whinfell School ...provide[s] up to 52 week residential placements to boys aged 11-19 who require care, education and health support...Whinfell School offers tailored, medium to long term placements for up to ten young people presenting with a variety of learning difficulties and needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Complex Neurological Conditions, ADHD, CAHMS Assessments, and their associated challenging behaviour. Young people may also be subject to Educational Statements of Special Educational Needs and presenting with impaired reciprocal social interactions and impaired communication skills.'
