What the parents say...

To start with... Abbot Alphege Academy... AAA... What can I say but an "A" in any form at school is a good thing and in Abbot Alphege's case it doesn't disappoint, the A++ school is fully deserved of it's name. We were new to Bath and England for that matter when we first heard about Abbot Alphege. We arrived mid school year of 2018 and visited many schools in Bath to find a place for our 2 children. Like most parents we wanted only the best for them and fortunately for us Bath has a great selection of schools with great reputations, so spoilt for choice our journey began. We were however looking for a school where our children would fit in, be given personal attention and that would give them confidence after such a huge move to a new country, something smaller and more personal. We liked a lot of schools some nice and some not so nice. Our break came when we were advised by the headmaster of one of the best schools in Bath to contact Abbot Alphege when they didn't have space for us at the time. He advised that they are not yet rated by Ofsted because they were new and that we should not only look at the Ofsted ratings, he said he knew that AAA is destined for good things, it's in a great area and has great teachers and heads. Out of all the schools we visited, when we arrived at AAA we knew immediately that this was the school for us. From the modern design, great facilities, friendly teachers and comforting atmosphere to the personal and uniquely brilliant teaching methods, this school had us swept off our feet as parents, so much so that we were worried about the catch... The great thing is there was no catch, it's just simply a great school. My children have blossomed since coming over, having a little boy who was very shy and lacked confidence and a little girl concerned over being teased or bullied because she wore glasses, we were concerned as parents and I must honestly say we have not regretted the decision one bit. The parents and children all get along really well, there is a great vibe at the school and all the events, the teachers and staff are so so nice and really accommodating and Dr. Bull, well her reputation speaks for itself, she has done an amazing job and together with all the staff deserve full credit. On the teaching front my children caught up quickly to the higher level of education thanks to the personal teaching at this smaller school and they continue to surprise us everyday with how quickly they are learning as apposed to our previous country. They have also had so much fun, with trips to donkey sanctuaries, Weston Coast, Concerts and Sports Days, it has been a great year with great experiences and one that has made our move to England so positive and so much easier. My children for the first time in their lives honestly cannot wait to go to school and are bitterly upset that the holiday break is approaching, now that in it's own says a lot about a school... Having almost seen through the school year now, I can say with great confidence that this is one little gem of a school and to contradict the words of said headmaster, it is not only destined for great things... it is already great... Well Done Abbot Alphege Academy, you are truly the start of something special, keep it up.
