What the school says...

Barrow Hills is a prep school that believes having a long and happy childhood is integral to being a successful person in later life. This demands the highest standards of pastoral care and academics, underpinned by core values.
Our ethos is the Catholic ethos of education: educate the whole child, find out what they are good at and celebrate this in the school community. To achieve this aim we have a broad and deep curriculum, increasingly specialist taught, as children progress through the school. Ability in specific subject areas is identified and supported.
There is a Hebrew proverb, Do not confine children to your own learning for they were born in another time. Embracing this, we are a totally connected school and have provided Samsung tablets with digital s-pens for each and every child from Year 3 upwards. Access to tablet devices is also provided for younger pupils along with Wi-Fi, large screen digital displays and air printers across the entire school. Resources are cloud based and we have our own encrypted site on Google, running Google apps for education.
You also need to know that our children have a full childhood; they are encouraged to be themselves and take risks with their learning. All we do is underpinned by our values of kindness, honesty, empathy, fortitude and charitable works.
Music and theatre is in our DNA and our children are part of a culture that sees everyone, every year, perform. Sport matters too, and by Year 3 all children have five hours of sport a week including, whenever possible, competitive matches against rival schools. The major team sports are: hockey, netball, rounders, tennis and some lacrosse for girls; football, rugby, hockey and cricket for boys.
We have strong links with excellent senior schools and many of our children are awarded scholarships. We are proud of our 100% success at Common Entrance with all children gaining entry to their chosen senior school at 13+.
We offer broad range of extra-curricular activities and a comprehensive programme of educational and residential visits.
Barrow Hills School is an Independent Co-educational Catholic Day School for children of all denominations aged 2 to 13 years. Our main building is an attractive Arts and Crafts house, and we have 33 acres of beautiful gardens, playing fields and woods in the Surrey Hills countryside. We are close to Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere. Key entry points Nursery, Kindy, Reception, Year 3 and Year 7.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
