We were told the story of one young student who loved cleaning cars so much (and was so good at it) that the college let him clean all the minibuses. His dedication and hard work led him on to cleaning coaches, and now he has landed his perfect job – cleaning aeroplanes at Bristol Airport. Since June 2018, Darren Jackson. Took a degree in art and aesthetics, and began his working life as a landscape painter and furniture designer, before helping to set up Trinity Fields, a leading Welsh school for profound and complex needs in 1998. Became acutely aware of the lack of provision for pupils leaving the school; something he tackled in his next position as head of creative arts at the newly established Beechwood College, a residential school for autism, where he later became head of education and then principal. When the college merged with two independent residential autism schools, Ty Bronllys & Ty Coryton in 2011, Jackson became director of education across the group.
