What The Good Schools Guide says

Principal

Since October 2017, Meryl Green. Very much part of the furniture, having worked here for 20 years, originally as head of creative arts. Has also spent time as an Ofsted inspector. Says she hopes her colleagues would describe her as ‘approachable, fair, emotionally intelligent.’

Entrance

Students start in September and may stay for one, two or three years. Increasingly the length of the course is dictated by local authority funding rather than needs or qualification cycles.

Funding for places at Derwen College is often split between social services and education and many parents find it hard to obtain funding.
