What the school says...

Greenfields School is an independent, non-denominational, day and boarding school on the edge of the Ashdown Forest that services children from 2 to 18. It has a Montessori based Pre-school & Reception class, followed by Infant, Junior, Senior, 6th Form and EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes. Greenfields utilises a unique study method which ensures children can apply what they learn for use in life - not just to pass examinations. It has a strong moral code and zero tolerance on bullying, drugs and alcohol. Fees start from 57 a week. Situated in beautiful grounds, with its adventure playground backing into the Ashdown Forest itself, the school is a safe and wonderful place to learn.

The main difference between Greenfields and other schools is the unique teaching method it uses. This method (Study Technology) isolates the barriers preventing or hindering a child from learning and then provides precise tools to deal with them. Its use allows any child of any ability to learn anything even those who have been labelled with learning difficulties. The school also applies a strong moral code (THE WAY TO HAPPINESS Booklet) ensuring happy students, no bullying, no drugs and successful graduates.

Boarding on school campus, rural location, close to London and Brighton.

What the parents say...

The comments below have been submitted by Greenfields School staff - not by individual parents. Therefore we have not been able to validate them. If you are a parent wishing to comment on a school it is preferable to submit comments personally rather than through the school. A few words from our parents… “At the end of 2011, despite a lot of hard work and care with my finances, I inevitably had to look at the expense of keeping my son at a private school. So I had a good look at exactly why I should or shouldn’t keep him at Greenfields and this is what I realised. I want my son to have the best start he can get in life and I don’t just mean good exam results. A child’s success in life should not be measured by what exams he has or how much money he can make. It should be judged on how well he can communicate, achieve his goals and help other people in the process. He may get this in another school. But I know he will get this at Greenfields. This makes my efforts to keep him there completely justified despite any temporary difficulties in doing so.” GB “What has impressed me most at Greenfields is the level of communication. Whether teacher to pupil or child to child, it is calm, constructive and pleasant. I’ve seen 8 year olds playing football with 15 year olds – wow, is that great or what? Both boys and girls make genuine cross-gender friendships which really last. I’m constantly amazed by the children.” R.R. “Greenfields is a small private school but the attention to each student is valuable from my viewpoint as a parent. I am impressed with the results of my sons since each of them came to Greenfields School so of course I recommend it!” E.J. “My son started at Greenfields in Sept 2009 at age 11 and I am very happy to see the changes the school has made for him in a few short years. The unique study methods used at the school has made a big difference to him but the other big difference is the way he is treated by the teachers. He is treated with respect and is expected to behave in a way that deserves respect - I recommend this school to anyone.” G.B. “I moved from Scotland to England to have my daughter attend this school and it was the best decision I could have made. Greenfields not only teaches all of the usual subjects but also teaches students HOW to study!! A skill very that is very much overlooked in education and vital to a person's success in life! J.D. “Both of my kids have gone to Greenfields since preschool. I would not send them to any other school. I go to work every day knowing they are in the best hands, just like home. They LOVE study - they learn how to study without much effort. They are treated with the most respect a kid could have and as a result are learning to treat others the same way they would want to be treated” W.D. “This is a really great school! My oldest son loved every day he was here and is surviving really well in today's ever changing world and my youngest very much likes the school. I feel comfortable having my child in a school that has zero tolerance of drugs and bullying, knowing that in addition to an excellent academic education, the children are learning valuable life skills and values.” F.B. “An excellent school delivering a quality and caring education. If all schools were like this the world would be a better place.” E.S. “Thanks to Greenfields’ policy on zero tolerance of bullying and drugs, I can honestly say that my children have never had to suffer the effects of bullying and have never touched drugs. They have also been enlightened on good, positive moral values from “The Way to Happiness,” which they have embraced in their every day life” N.W. “I have two children at Greenfields School. They love their school and feel very happy there. Their educational level is very high and I also feel that they are very safe there. They are both artistic and this has been enhanced by Greenfields.” A.M. “The school grounds are attractive, spacious and free from any dangerous elements. I feel my daughter will have a good grounding for her life-long academic career, also for her own welfare through life. Thank you, Greenfields, from a happy parent” D.H. “As a parent, the education my son receives here at Greenfields has no price and I know that with the Study Technology my son is safe. My son will be able to study what he wants to study and by this I mean that he will be able to reach his personal goal in life. It’s wonderful” F. B. “Finding Greenfields was one of the best things I have ever done for my children. My only regret is that I didn't know about it when my oldest two children were at school” K.H. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for providing my children with this haven where they can truly study in a safe environment and mature to be responsible and caring adults” S.C. “I've been a Greenfields parent since 1983. It is the only school I know where the children run towards the school, not only when late!” A.D. “The teachers give any children respect because they both know how to apply the Study Tech to achieve results. This method of learning has opened a huge door for their future as they cannot be put off by any subject as they have study skills for life!!!!” C.W.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
