Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.

Special Education Needs

We offer targeted foundation learning courses to students on a part-time and full-time basis, with group sizes ranging between five and 16. This provision comprises accredited courses for 16-19 year-olds with a variety of support needs, including those with specific learning difficulties and behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Some learners undertaking these courses have progressed from the special schools sector. In addition, we have courses for adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD) which take place both at the college and in community venues in the local area. Many learners progress on to higher level provision and/or employment. We also offer the supported internship programme for learners in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with qualified Job coaches to support.
