What the school says...

The International Community School (ICS) is an IB World School in central London, ranked in the top 20% of UK schools. The school is an international day school located over two sites in the centre of London.

This year, ICS is 40 years old and has been offering an international education in the heart of London throughout its existence. Our students progress into their first choice universities worldwide and we are justly proud of our academic results.

We offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes (Primary Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma) to children aged 3 – 18 years. ICS has a diverse community of over 55 different nationalities including British families and boasts a strong tradition of working with students in small classes in a highly personalised, creative and academically rigorous environment.

For students aged 11 - 13 needing English language support, we offer our unique customised English Preparation Programme, which allows students to study English alongside academic subjects without ‘missing' an academic year.

We also welcome and provide outstanding support to children with a range of learning differences who will thrive in the IB programmes. All students also benefit from a wide range of after-school clubs and activities. We utilise local amenities such a Regent’s Park, Seymour Leisure Centre and London's cultural opportunities to the fullest.

For admissions enquiries please contact the Admissions Office directly on the contact details above.

Curricula

International Baccalaureate: diploma - the diploma is the familiar A-level equivalent.

International Baccalaureate: middle years - middle Years is a programme for ages 11-16.

International Baccalaureate: primary years - primary years is a programme for ages 3-12.

Other features

All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.

Special Education Needs

The school admits children from the UK and international settings into its mainstream environment. About 17% of the students benefit from the student support programme which produces individual education plans (IEPs) for children with special educational needs. Our educational psychologist leads a team of therapists and learning support assistants who provide in-school therapy and support to students who need it. This involves all teachers and staff working with each child. The school believes in integrating students with special needs and strives to be a leader in London in both provision and teacher training.
