Woodford Green Preparatory School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11. Founded in 1932, the school is known locally as the Red School because of the scarlet uniforms. Woodford Green Prep is a diverse community, inclusive of all faiths and none.

Head Lisa McDonald says: 'As well as having a strong track record of academic excellence, WGPS is a nurturing community that places children's personal development and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. We understand that high levels of well-being and happiness are a prerequisite for academic success and we strive to ensure every child approaches learning, not only with knowledge, but with confidence, open mindedness, the ability to think deeply and take risks and with an image ability to see perspectives beyond their own.'
