SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

The Student Support Centre at BMS offers an opportunity for all pupils to achieve to their full potential. At present there are six teachers and nineteen teaching assistants (full and part-time) who work with pupils (and the teachers of...) who have SEN. The main thrust of the SSC is supporting pupils in mainstream lessons. However, there is the flexibility to cope with pupils individual needs through small group or 1-1 work. We have the experience and knowledge of working with the diverse nature of SEN, as well as excellent working relationships with outside agencies within the local authority - autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language, specific learning difficulties, sensory and physical needs. We liaise regularly with parents and are always available to discuss any concerns (given appropriate notice!)
