Coppice Valley Community Primary School fully supports North Yorkshire's commitment to inclusion; to involve the presence, participation and achievement of all pupils. We have been awarded the North Yorkshire Inclusion Award.

Teaching is planned to meet the needs of all pupils whatever their ability. Our staff work very closely with parents and carers to help every child do their best, from raising inital concerns to making action plans and reviewing progress. For those children who need a little extra one-to-one help, the school provides sessions with a special needs assistant. We have close relationships with local support services and make good use of specialist teachers to supplement our work. We have experience working with autistic spectrum disorders, dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, behavioural difficulties, English as an additional language, mild and moderate learning difficulties.
