SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

At Grange Juniors, we use our statementing funding to buy in a specialist teacher to meet the needs of children with statements and some of our children at school action plus in Literacy and Numeracy. They work together every morning in our family unit, supported by two specialist teaching assistants, who have had specialist training in special needs areas, such as dyslexia and autism, for example. The family unit contains a large bank of SEN resources. The number of children with special needs in our school is above the national average, however, year on year attainment results kept for these children show, that they make good progress against their previous attainment. Our SEN provision was particulary praised in our last Ofsted report.
