SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

The Learning Support Department comprises (at time of writing) two specialist teachers, fourteen learning tutors, a behaviour support manager and a behaviour support outreach worker.

Support is provided for children with learning difficulties as a result of intellectual, physical, sensory, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. This support takes many forms, including: in-class work with a learning tutor; withdrawal work to address specific difficulties eg spelling, numeracy; individual work on subjects; part-time attendance and individualised teaching; group work on specific areas, both academic and social/emotional group withdrawal for focused behavioural needs.

The aim is to provide a flexible package of support, with parents consulted to discuss individual needs and work together to ensure appropriate learning opportunities for each child.
