SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Our school is fully inclusive. All children have equal rights. Our curriculum is designed to motivate and engage all children. We have a peer mentoring system and our children are supported with strategies which will help them learn - readiness, resilience, resourcefulness, remembering and reflection. Our children are organised into mixed aged groups (reception to year 6) for registration, personal, social, health education, emotional development and citizenship as well as all the foundation subjects e.g. art, science, design and technology. The curriculum is environmentally based and linked to our guardianship of Godrevy Beach (National Trust). Our learning activities are lead through team teaching and are linked to skills ladders. We encourage fun and creativity through a negotiated curriculum. Our topic based work leads the skills developed in literacy and this in turn has lead to a rise in standards for all children. Currently we are developing children's thinking skills through open ended questions which allows all children to succeed. Our children are becoming confident learners. Our small school means that we know each individual child really well.
