SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

The SEN department is staffed by teaching assistants and specialist SEN teachers. We offer a fully inclusive approach in ensuring every student has the right to learn to his or her very best potential in all aspects of the curriculum on offer here. We support students with specific and moderate learning difficulties, hearing or visual impairment, speech and communication problems, behaviour or emotional difficulties, those on the autistic spectrum and many more. Our Inclusion Centre promotes a positive environment for students who have behaviour difficulties and offers strategies to address their problems through structured group work. We have a Learning Support Unit that supports students with social, emotional or attendance problems. Our Gifted and Talented provision allows students, who are working beyond their level/grade, the opportunity to explore other educational features such as visits to local Universities etc. The department’s success stems from its inclusive principles together with the flexibility and commitment of its highly motivated staff.
