SEN overview

New College Lanarkshire Motherwell Campus is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Motherwell College provides for students with a wide range of Additional Support Needs. Student Services provide educational support for students participating in our extensive range of vocational programmes. Following a pre-course assessment support requirments are assessed and agreed. Where personal care is identified it may require funding from Social Work services. If a student is unable to participate in our mainstream vocational programmes, we offer a personal curriculum to meet the needs of the individual. This programme will involve participation in relevant and accessible elements of College provision. A personal Learning and Support Plan will monitor progress and guide programme development for the individual. The College has a residence which is fully accessible. Students who have personal care needs and are resident will need to appoint a care manager to agree a care plan and fund that service.
