Northern Infant School is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Northern Infant School is often praised by external agencies and the local authority for being fully inclusive. We believe that all children have the capacity to learn and are entitled to the kind of provision that is right for them as an individual. We therefore work very closely with parents and other agencies to understand each child's needs and develop the necessary expertise within our staff.

We have an excellent nurture group in school which runs daily between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and supports children with emotional and social needs. The teaching assistants who run the group are fully qualified and have many years experience.

Recently we have met the needs of a child with a significant language disorder, a child with a hearing impairment, children with specific learning difficulties and children with autistic spectrum tendencies.
