What the school says

Odyssey House School is a small independent school for children aged 7-19. The school caters for neurodiverse children and those with emotional based school avoidance and anxiety. The school offers small class sizes and teaches a full and balanced curriculum through a trauma informed approach, where children are prepared for GCSEs, BTECs, entry level and functional skill qualifications as appropriate. Our schools are uniquely positioned and offer a real opportunity for experiential learning delivered by a talented team of qualified and experienced teachers, learning mentors and MDT including SALT, OT, EFT and creative therapies (music/art/play), counselling and psychotherapy.

A full statement of intent and implementation in relation to how the school supports children with additional learning needs and special educational needs is available from the Headteacher.

Odyssey House School provides a small, nurturing and safe learning environment for pupils. It strives to remove labels and has an indomitable focus on the individual child to support them in achieving their personal best. The school offers the full national curriculum delivered by qualified teachers who also have specialist SEN training. the academic team is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and the school offers SALT, OT, art, music & play therapies as well as social skills groups, lego therapy and other specialist interventions.

Almost all of our children have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but we look beyond the document. Each pupil at Odyssey House School is unique and talented in their own right. Our focus is to unleash individual potential and to prepare them for the life ahead of them.

Our aim is to change a child’s experience of education through connection, nurture, to help them learn, grow and achieve transformative life outcomes.
