SEN overview

Parkhall Primary School is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Parkhall Primary School is firmly committed to helping all pupils attain their fullest potential in terms of academic achievement. To this end the school operates a wide range of approaches to address the special educational needs that may arise during a child's academic career. Where a child is identified with special needs, an individual learning programme is drawn up by the class teacher and the Special Needs teacher. This programme may involve individual or group withdrawal to the SEN teacher or in class support. The staff keep up to date with latest research for example; the Special Needs teacher has been trained in Primary Movement and is piloting this programme in Parkhall Primary School as an example of ELB Dissemination of Good Practice. There is good liaison with external professionals such as speech and language and Occupational therapists to ensure that individual educational programmes are tailored to the best interests of the child.
