What is this?

Facilitating A levels are ones that are commonly needed for entry to leading universities. The % of pupils achieving AAB or higher may therefore decrease if many pupils have opted not to take two or more of the facilitating subjects mentioned.

SEN overview

St Anne's Catholic High School for Girls is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

As a community of pupils, staff, parents and govenors, St Anne's are determined to ensure that girls with additional educational needs are able to receive the highest quality education. We recognise that the teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and well being of every pupil matter. We seek to remove the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder or exclude pupils with additional educational needs.

All staff embrace the responsiblity for identifying pupils with additional educational needs and St Anne's have a stringent screening, monitoring and assessment process for each pupil.

Staff work closely with the SENCo, Assistant AEN Co-ordinator, Teaching Assistants and Learning Mentors to ensure that all pupils have equal opportunity and access to the cirriculum.

Subject Leaders are responsible for putting into place schemes of work that assist the subject teacher to plan and implement teaching and learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils in the classroom.

Pupils with additional needs are fully supported within the classroom via a differentiated cirriculum and Teaching Assistants. The support is for targeted pupils whose additional needs have been identified and support has been agreed on the pupil's Individual Education Plan. Where appropriate the pupils are withdrawn for individual and small group work.

Our Student Support Centre (funded through the Excellence in Cities initiative) provides additional short term 1:1 or small group workshops to explore social, emotional, behavioural and organisational issues.

St Anne's works very closely and is fully supported by our linked outside agencies and support groups.
