What the school says

Our prep school features small classes with an average of 14 children and exceptional teachers, including subject specialists, providing a teacher-pupil ratio rarely seen in large independent preps and state primary schools in Wembley. We boast an impressive 11-plus exam record, with half of our pupils securing offers from grammar schools or gaining scholarships in some years. Our advanced curriculum pushes pupils beyond age-related expectations, but it is our focus on personal development that sets us apart from other large independent schools in North London.

St Christopher's School does not specialise in SEN provision but when one of our pupils is diagnosed as suffering from one need or another we make a decision based upon the individual.
If a child is diagnosed as having such severe difficulties that we feel unable to provide for him properly, we will give his/her parents every assistance in finding an alternative and suitable school. If we feel we can provide adequate provision, we do so. The past 5 years have seen statemented childen amply provided for within St Christopher's with the assistance of both the Brent and Hertfordshire education authorities.
The school does not provide a specialist SEN unit. We do have teachers qualified in various areas and have systems in place for the provision of additional specialist professional assistance.
