SEN statement
Provided by the school and not part of our review
At Glan-y-Mor School, we see every child as an individual. In this way, we can get to know a child's potential and provide for his/her individual needs whether underachieving or gifted and talented.
Our aim is to include all pupils within the life of the school. We achieve this by providing a holistic approach to all aspects of a child's learning. In the January 2004 Estyn report, Inspectors noted that: 'The arrangements made to identify pupils who need support are thorough with very good links with primary schools leading to early identification in Year 7'. A team of specialist experienced teachers, highly trained staff and school Counsellor provide academic, social, emotional and behavioural support to pupils. Support is provided in mainstream classes, dedicated teaching rooms and, if needed, during unstructured periods. In our last inspection, the findings were: 'The provision for pupils with S.E.N. is good and the school's response to the requirements of the Code of Practice is very good ... All pupils with S.E.N. leave school with appropriate accreditation.'
