Exeter Cathedral School is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Exeter Cathedral School has a fully qualified Special Educational Needs and/or Disability Co-Ordinator (SENDCo), 'Head of Learning Support', to provide support for children with an identified SEND or those who are presenting with characteristics where additional or different provision is required. The SENDCo will also support children where there is a suggestion of SEND. The SENDCo will support staff in the early identification of need/s and provide timely advice of how the child can be supported in their class. They will also provide 1:1 or small group interventions targeted to the specific need of the children. Furthermore, the SENDCo will liaise with parents, external agencies and most importantly the child to ensure all voices are heard.

At Exeter Cathedral School we welcome children who have one or more needs as specified in the four areas of need within the SEND Code of Practice (2015); Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and Sensory and/or Physical Needs.
