This new school has hit the ground running. Demand in the area for a more academic route for sixth formers was high, and parents embraced it, prepared to take a punt and support any teething problems. But there don’t appear to have been many. Focused, mature, woke pupils, who are go getting and getting on with it, and proving successful.

This was only their third year of results. A wide choice of subjects, but only academic, no media studies or food tech here. Psychology the hot subject at the moment, and excellent results reflect this, closely followed by maths and the sciences.

What is this?

Facilitating A levels are ones that are commonly needed for entry to leading universities. They are: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages. The % of pupils achieving AAB or higher may therefore decrease if many pupils have opted not to take two or more of the facilitating subjects mentioned.
