Mobile phone policy

A clear mobile phone policy is a really important part of modern schooling. This school has provided us with their policy.

Mobile phone policy

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Mobile phone policy is in line with the rest of our ethos - 'Students are free to make their own decisions, as long as they are the right ones. If they make mistakes, we correct students, teach them and expect them to take our advice. In this sense, mobile phone use is exactly the same as any other type of behaviour issue in schools'.

What is this?

Facilitating A levels are ones that are commonly needed for entry to leading universities. They are: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages. The % of pupils achieving AAB or higher may therefore decrease if many pupils have opted not to take two or more of the facilitating subjects mentioned.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

At Harris Westminster, we are committed to ensuring that every student with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) receives the support they need to thrive academically, personally, and socially. We identify needs early and work closely with students, families, teachers, and specialist services to provide personalised and flexible support. Our teachers are trained to create inclusive classrooms, removing barriers to learning so that all students can access the full curriculum with confidence. Alongside this, we offer targeted interventions that address individual needs while building resilience, independence, and self-belief. Our commitment extends beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on enrichment, leadership, and cultural capital. Students with SEND are encouraged to play a full and active role in college life through societies, clubs, cultural perspective classes, and leadership responsibilities. Our students lead on initiatives such as assemblies around inclusion, shaping the culture of the college and ensuring that their voices are heard. These opportunities help all students grow as confident individuals who can engage meaningfully with the wider world.

We also recognise that transition points are key to student success. We provide bespoke programmes to support students as they join the sixth form, and we prepare them for ambitious destinations when they leave. Our history of success is testament to this commitment: SEND students from our college have progressed to Oxford, Cambridge, Russell Group universities, Medicine, Veterinary Science, degree-level apprenticeships, and other prestigious routes. We are proud of these achievements and remain dedicated to ensuring every student leaves us with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in their chosen pathway.
