A clear mobile phone policy is a really important part of modern schooling. This school has provided us with their policy.

Mobile phone policy

Provided by the school and not part of our review

We recognise that mobile phones and digital devices are an integral part of young people’s culture and way of life and can have considerable value, particularly in relation to personal security and safety. We recognise that such technology will play an increasing part in education in the future, but that we need rules and guidelines to help develop good learning habits and prevent disruption. We aim to educate pupils in the responsible use of technology. Pupils are permitted to bring mobile phones and digital devices to school, but their use is subject to rules appropriate for each year group together with rules for the responsible use of mobile phones.

What the school says

Ipswich High School is a vibrant day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3–18, set in a beautiful 87-acre campus in Woolverstone on the banks of the River Orwell. With approximately 530 pupils, everyone at Ipswich High School is well known as an individual. We have small classes of hard-working pupils and inspirational teachers who help to instil a love of learning, the results of which are exceptional academic outcomes year-on-year. We are just as ambitious outside of the classroom and have a broad co-curricular programme, as well as offering a home-away-from-home boarding environment.

SEN overview

Ipswich High School is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

We aim to provide equal opportunities to develop all pupils’ talents and abilities, and we recognise that for some children, support may be needed for this to be achieved. At whole school level, this is nurtured and developed through differentiated teaching in the classroom. For some pupils however, additional support is required. We offer a range of interventions that aim to meet their individual needs through our learning support department.

We would welcome you to visit Ipswich High School to discuss your child’s special educational needs and/or disabilities.
