Boarders
Around half of pupils are full or flexi boarders. Dorms are modern and practical, staffed by two house parents and matron. Flexi boarders enjoy staying after sports fixtures or activities: ‘It’s like having a giant sleepover with lots of friends.’

Mobile phone policy
A clear mobile phone policy is a really important part of modern schooling. This school has provided us with their policy.
Mobile phone policy
Mobile phones may not be used in EYFS, except in the case of an emergency. Photographs taken of the children should be part of planned activities and should be taken with school cameras only. Mobile phones will not be used during lessons or formal school time. The sending of abusive or inappropriate text messages is forbidden.
Mobile phones (Boarding House) Pupils are allowed their own mobile phones at designated times on a Tuesday, Thursday and one day at the weekend (usually a Sunday morning, dependent on weekend activities and excursions). Please make sure your child’s mobile phone and charger are named. These will be kept in your son’s own secure locker. We ask that all calls are finished by 8.30pm so that other boys are not disturbed; the junior boys have Lights Out at 8.30pm. Most pupils will call home in the evenings, but those calling different time zones may request to call after breakfast or during morning break time.

Our view
