Arts & extracurricular

Sport

Girls receive a standard three hours a week of PE, but thanks to the breadth of extracurricular sport it’s easily tripled for many. ‘All our girls love sport,’ says department head who guarantees that if they commit to a club, they will make a team.

Ethos & heritage

Set in 55 acres and atop a hill (‘a bit too steep,’ according to one girl), St Teresa’s was founded in 1928 by the Religious Order of Christian Instruction with just four pupils. It is now the largest Catholic independent girls’ school in the country

Girls are wholesome, mostly makeup free, with sensible school bags and shoes. School describes them as ‘compassionate with some oomph’. Those we met all sang from the same song sheet, or in the case of the prep girls a laminated crib sheet of key
