What says..

Royal Russell offers every pupil a bespoke educational pathway with 24 subject choices and a host of co-curricular options and adventures. Superb floodlit Astro pitches, well maintained tennis and netball courts and even their own cross-country track in the surrounding woodlands. PE teachers and coaches run an extremely busy and accomplished department plus a full fixture list. Pupils compete with many successes... Some unusual extracurricular options such as dog walking and junior hairdressing club, apparently model heads only although we noticed some of the staff had rather closely clipped hair...

Royal Russell is a co-educational day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3 - 18, situated in 110 acres of stunning woodland. As a family school, it offers an exceptional education by valuing what makes each pupil distinctively brilliant. All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Since 2011, Chris Hutchinson BMet Sheffield, PGCE Cambridge, FRSA. His teaching career started at Clifton College in Bristol, where he was head of physics and a housemaster, moving on to Wellington College as head of science and assistant director of studies. He took his first headship at Newcastle School for Boys before heading back south and taking over at Royal Russell. Married to Alex, a fellow scientist, who is also head teacher at a nearby South London school. People tell us he is a thoughtful and kind man, with a clear vision for the school. Now in his second decade at Royal Russell, he speaks about all the ideas and efforts he has inspired and developed to put the school firmly on the map as a top South London co-ed choice.
