Special Education Needs
Ash Field School and Microtechnology Centre is a day and residential school for 110 pupils aged 4-19 whose main presenting difficulties are physical but are usually compounded by one or more additional needs of a communication, sensory, learning or medical nature. In addition to its day and residential work, the school assesses pupils in mainstream for their curriculum access requirements and recommends, installs, and provides training for, ICT equipment and software. More than 500 pupils are currently supported in mainstream in this way. Ash Field is a Leading Edge school, replacing its Beacon status, and is an SEN trailblazer specialist school.
