Edge Grove is a day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, characterised by a genuine commitment to the pursuit of excellence. Located in 48 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, and conveniently located close to the M1 and M25 motorways and only 15 miles from central London, its wonderful setting and facilities ensure pupils are exposed to a wide range of experiences and develop confidence in a challenging, fun and inspirational environment. Headmaster

Since September 2020, Lisa McDonald, previously deputy head (and before that assistant head) at The British International School in New York (a sister school to Abercorn School in London). Born in Glasgow, she has a law degree from Aberdeen University and worked for a top legal firm in Jersey before deciding to switch to teaching. After gaining her PGCE from Cambridge, she worked in Jersey as a junior school teacher before rising through the ranks.

More selective than it was, ‘if only because we have more interest in the school and fewer places,’ says school. But assessments and parental interview still relatively relaxed by north London standards. School says it would rather take someone with lower IQ who plays an instrument and has parental buy-in than someone very bright with no passion for the school’s...
