Probably the starkest school building in the Scottish independent sector - a pale blue shoebox with bright red signage rising oddly behind some spectacular ornate railings (a relic of the former Hamilton Palace) but with stunning views and masses of space overlooking Hamilton Park race course. Impressive record of art school entry (lots to Glasgow) and some distinguished past pupils. All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Since September 2021, Richard Charman.

Since September 2020, chief executive officer is Katie Morton. She leads on the non-educational aspects. With a background in law and business (B’Acc, LLB and Dip LP), her remit is around the strategic vision. She has Hamilton College in her blood, having been involved in the school the majority of her life as a pupil, parent, governor and chairman.

Since September 2021, head of upper school is Heather Stark. She first joined the college in 2000 as a teacher of business, economics and computing science and more recently has been vice principal. BA in commerce in information management and PGCE in business education, economics and computer science – both from Strathclyde.
