Hands up all those for whom ‘Hands up!’ in class is terrifying – extreme introverts, sufferers of anxiety, victims of bullying to name but a few. Many of these – as well as families that are keen, but geographically unable, to access the English curriculum and exams – told us King's InterHigh is tantamount to striking gold. Maximum of 20 students per live lesson, of which there are two (40 minutes each) per subject per week for younger students, increasing to three at I/GCSE (more for English and maths) and seven at A level or IB. Since July 2023, Catriona Olsen. Raised in Ireland, where she gained her degree in information systems management from Galway before moving to Scotland to do her PGDE (with secondary school computing specialism) at Edinburgh. Stayed there for first teaching job – in Penicuik, as computing and ICT teacher, then headed south of the border to London Academy Edgware for six years, becoming assistant principal. Next up was a move to South Africa (her husband is South African) where she worked her way up to college lead for one of Inspired Education’s physical schools.
