What the school says...

Old Palace Pre School & Preparatory (ages 3-11) is an academically selective school set within beautiful grounds in South Croydon. The School enjoys extensive facilities and is conveniently situated for Lloyd Park tram stop; alternatively, our fleet of mini buses covers a radius of 10 miles. Girls join our Pre School from the term they turn three and transfer to the Prep School is automatic. All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Entrance

Entrance into pre-pre at 3+, with automatically entry into prep. Prep school entry is from 4+, when prospective families are invited to a meeting and tour of the school with the head, followed by an assessment. We’ve previously described the intake as ‘oversubscribed’, but with two applicants for each place it’s something of a breeze compared with schools even a fraction closer to central London. A fair few newcomers join the prep in other years and are quickly absorbed, with firm friendships quickly established, say pupils.
