Certainly not the Eton of the north, but a school in which every single statistic that should be climbing is doing so, some slowly (academic averages) but all surely, and some exponentially - minor successes, teams and competitions. Since February 2016, Ms Fiona Robertson, previously deputy head at Mackie Academy, Aberdeenshire.
Since the catchment area covers both inner city areas of Perth and part of county Perthshire, courses provide for academic high fliers and direct entry to employment. Initially all classes are mixed ability, but some subjects are set for ability during the course of S1 and S2: maths and French from S1, English, Spanish and German from S3. All do National grades or vocational courses - hairdressing, construction. horticulture (new poly-tunnel), engineering, childcare, sport and recreation (all joint with Perth College etc) - and technical – technical studies, graphic communications, home ec, admin, craft/design etc, as well as a solid set of academic possibilities.
