What the school says...

The primary aim of the School is to prepare children for the next step of their education at the age of 11, ensuring that they are articulate and have taken full advantage of an education designed to stimulate the development of each child both intellectually and socially. We have two libraries, an ICT suite, a well-equipped laboratory, art room, music room and a Sports Hall which blends a state-of-the-art school with beautiful historic buildings. There are specialist teachers in Mathematics, English, Science, Information Technology, Design Technology, Geography, History, Art, Music and French. There is also a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Every effort has been made to consider the needs of modern teachers and pupils to create an environment second to none. Entry is by interview and assessment. Application forms can be obtained from the Secretary and appointments to view the school are welcome. ...Read more

Entrance

Academically non-selective. Offers places based on a taster day and head interview only: ‘We see so much of a child by spending a day with them in the class’. Kindergarten from the term the pupil turns 3 - very much a ‘pre-school’ education rather than a nursery, with uniforms worn and pupils expected to be toilet trained and no longer needing a day time nap.
Currently experiencing the post-Covid relocation boom, the prep is seeing its highest ever level of new starters, so always worth asking about joining...
