Special Education Needs

We enrol students who can benefit from our programme. Our school aims to help students to become successful learners in a supportive environment. Our learning support teacher works with individuals who require additional support to develop their learning strategies in many areas. In addition, our Literacy Support teacher works with individuals and small groups to extend their reading, writing and spelling strategies and raise their levels of literacy, or to challenge the more able readers. English as an Additional Language constitutes a special need for many of our students. Each year we have new students who require intensivde EAL for a time. Many students require maintenance and further development of English language skills. We employ a specialist teacher of EAL whose timetable is flexible. This enhances the varying needs for EAL teaching to be accommodated as they change from term to term.
