What the school says...

Lambeth Academy is a diverse inner London comprehensive school which forms part of the United Learning family of schools. We are situated in Clapham, South London, close to the border with Wandsworth. We are an Ofsted GOOD school following our inspection in 2020.

Lambeth Academy recognises the uniqueness of each and every one of its' students. We value high standards of academic attainment and are in the top 10% of schools nationally in terms of the progress our students make. Our Sixth Form results are consistently amongst the best in the borough and our Year 13 students go on to attend top Russell Group universities. We believe in achieving high standards through high expectations, excellent teaching and a strong focus on the development of character. We work closely with a number of HE providers and world class businesses to provide significant opportunities for our students to gain wider experiences and develop new skills which serve them well as adults. This is delivered through an extensive co-curricular programme.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced. We value the creative subjects and all students have opportunities to take part in Dance, Drama, PE, Music and Art from Year 7, alongside the more traditional subjects of Maths, English, Science and Humanities.

Further reading

If there are more applicants to a school than it has places for, who gets in is determined by which applicants best fulfil the admissions criteria.

Admissions criteria are often complicated, and may change from year to year. The best source of information is usually the relevant local authority website, but once you have set your sights on a school it is a good idea to ask them how they see things panning out for the year that you are interested in.

Many schools admit children based on distance from the school or a fixed catchment area. For such schools, the cut-off distance will vary from year to year, especially if the school give priority to siblings, and the pattern will be of a central core with outliers (who will mostly be siblings). Schools that admit on the basis of academic or religious selection will have a much more scattered pattern.
