What is this?

Facilitating A levels are ones that are commonly needed for entry to leading universities. They are: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages. The % of pupils achieving AAB or higher may therefore decrease if many pupils have opted not to take two or more of the facilitating subjects mentioned.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Gosford Hill has a range of SEN provision operating from a well equipped base which has three work areas and a suite of computers. There is a large (16+) team of Teaching Assistants led by an experienced SENCO. Support is offered according to need and may take the form of withdrawal for 1:1 or group work, or in class help. Students for whom English is not their first language are offered targetted support. The school opened a Learning Support Unit in September 2003 which has a full-time teacher manager and designated Teaching Assistants. An induction course is offered to "vulnerable" Year 6 students in the summer term before transfer to Gosford Hill.
