What is this?

Facilitating A levels are ones that are commonly needed for entry to leading universities. They are: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages. The % of pupils achieving AAB or higher may therefore decrease if many pupils have opted not to take two or more of the facilitating subjects mentioned.

SEN overview

Saint Felix School is a mainstream school. The school may provide support for students with special educational needs as detailed below. If you require more information on conditions the school can support, we encourage you to contact the school directly.

SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

At Saint Felix School we firmly believe that all pupils should enjoy equal access to the curriculum and should be given the appropriate support to reach their full potential. Our learning support assistants and teachers work together closely to create an environment that meets the special educational needs of each child, whilst the SENCo plays an active role in monitoring the quality of our learning support provision.

Education provision is delivered in three stages – Stage 1: is class based with quality first teaching providing differentiation for all pupils. Stage 2: is a focused short term specific programme of intervention either carried out in a small group or with an individual pupil. Stage 3: is a specific programme of intervention which will be carried out over a longer period. From here consideration will be given for more formal assessment.

All contributions from pupils are valued. Every teacher is a teacher of every child or young person including those with special educational needs. The school has a commitment to providing special educational needs support throughout the school. Pupils who require additional assistance are supported by our dedicated enhanced learning department. The department consists of the SENCo and additional learning support assistants.
