In 1995, Southlands School established itself as the first residential school in the UK for students with Asperger Syndrome. Today, we continue to lead with innovative teaching methods, access to the full national curriculum and new Information Communication Technologies in classrooms. We are a part of Cambian Education, the largest provider of specialist residential education and care for young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in the United Kingdom.

Southlands offers a 38-week residential programme for boys. Admission can take place at any time during the school year and day provision is available for students living close to the school. Southlands draws upon a proven programme of Specialist Education, Specialist 24-hour Care and a wide range of Clinical and Therapeutic Inputs, including Speech & Language Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry and Psychology. Multi-disciplinary teams and high staff ratios ensure intensive individual support. We offer extensive community-based programmes, vocational training and further education opportunities.

Southlands is located in the village of Boldre, near Lymington in Hampshire. The main school building is a large country house set on extensive grounds and with additional premises spread across the site. Post-16 places are available at The Wing Centre. Nov 09.
