Small class sizes allow for personalised teaching and, as one parent told us, all abilities thrive here – ‘Every pupil is successful, confident and a great communicator.’ Pupils say teachers inject fun into notoriously dry subjects. Certainly no time

Pastoral care, inclusivity & discipline

Pastoral care is a ‘lynchpin’ of the school, say parents, with staff helping to maintain a ‘safe’ bubble and recognise when pupils need support. We lost count of the references to the family feel – ‘teachers are like aunties,’ said one pupil. School

Mobile phone policy

A clear mobile phone policy is a really important part of modern schooling. This school has provided us with their policy.

Mobile phone policy

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Senior school pupils cannot use mobile phones or smart watches during the school day. The policy is based on three principles. First, ‘out of sight, out of mind’ (phones must be kept out of sight during the school day). Second, ‘it’s seen, it’s taken’ (phones seen without permission will be confiscated until day's end, with repeated offences leading to further sanctions). Third, ‘ask for permission, not forgiveness’ (pupils must ask staff for permission to use phones for urgent matters).
