Named for the Mancunian Labour MP Ellen Wilkinson, who led the Jarrow March in 1936 and became the first female minister for education in 1945, the school was founded in 1974 and is still the only all-girls comprehensive school in Ealing.

Pupils & parents
Most parents and daughters here made a conscious decision to choose Ellen Wilkinson above any other school. The odd pupil has chosen it because someone in her wider family has been here, many because it is a real community school with a local feel.
