The curriculum is engaging, rigorous and broad ranging. Pretty much unanimous praise for the teachers. ‘The teaching is really fantastic, the staff are so dedicated,' said one parent. Head

Since September 2024, Rob Garvey, previously senior deputy head (academic) and teacher of politics at Merchant Taylors' School. He has a law degree from the University of Cambridge and a master’s in French law from the University of Paris, after which he worked as a solicitor. Before Merchant Taylors', he was a housemaster at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and taught politics, theology, philosophy and French. He’s a fluent French speaker, active sportsman and keen supporter of the arts.

Entrance

About a quarter come up from Wetherby Prep, the rest from a wide range of schools (prep and primary) across London. All applicants (for 11+ and 13+) sit the school’s bespoke entrance test during the autumn term of year 6. This assesses English and maths, plus verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
